Designed by Percival Lafer and produced in Brazil during the 1960s, this MP-41 lounge chair embodies the warmth and ingenuity of mid-century Brazilian design. The sculptural frame is crafted from solid Jatobá wood, known for its rich tone and exceptional strength, supporting a deep sling seat suspended by new belt leather straps. The cushion has been completely rebuilt with new foam and upholstered in Traverso Safari leather by Cortina, a supple, full-grain hide that perfectly complements the chair’s organic form. Every detail—from the hand-stitched seams to the careful button tufting—has been restored by hand over countless hours, resulting in a finish that feels both authentic and luxurious. A true statement piece in impeccable condition, it captures Lafer’s signature balance of comfort, craftsmanship, and modernist spirit—inviting you to sink in and stay awhile.
