The Bambi lounge chair (model 56/1) was designed in 1954 by Rolf Rastad and Adolf Relling and produced by Gustav Bahus in Norway. The design is defined by its sculptural frame, where the backrest flows continuously into the armrests, forming a unified and expressive structure.

The chair is constructed in solid teak, with a warm tone and visible grain. The seat and back are formed with woven cane, creating a light and breathable surface. The proportions are compact, with a slightly reclined posture suitable for casual seating. The curved arm and back elements provide both support and a continuous visual line.

The chair is in good vintage condition. The frame is structurally sound, with light wear consistent with age and use. The cane remains intact and functional, showing minor signs of use appropriate to its age.

A well-resolved example of Scandinavian mid-century design, where structure and material are expressed through a continuous, sculptural form.
