This arc floor lamp was produced in Canada during the 1960s–1970s, reflecting the strong influence of Scandinavian design in North American furniture and lighting of the period. The piece is constructed in solid teak, shaped into a continuous curved arm that defines its overall structure.
The design combines a clear structural approach with functional flexibility. The bonnet-style shade is mounted on a pivot, allowing the direction of light to be adjusted for reading or ambient use. The arc form extends the light outward while maintaining a compact base footprint.
The construction highlights careful woodworking, with the teak shaped into a smooth and continuous curve. The contrast between the warm wood and the textured fabric shade creates a balanced and understated presence. The shade diffuses light softly while still allowing directional control.
The lamp is in excellent condition, with a stable structure and well-preserved surfaces. The pivot mechanism functions as intended, and the shade remains clean and intact.
A well-resolved lighting piece that combines structure, material, and function in a clear mid-century form.
