This lounge chair was designed by Illum Wikkelsø and produced by N. Eilersen in Denmark during the 1960s. The structure is crafted in solid Brazilian rosewood, forming a low and grounded frame with clear horizontal lines. The proportions are generous, with a wide seat and deep stance that emphasize comfort while maintaining a controlled architectural presence.
The upholstered elements are defined by their simplicity. Loose cushions sit within the frame, creating a clear separation between structure and soft components. The chair has been fully restored with new Pirelli webbing, new foam, and Hallingdal wool upholstery by Kvadrat. The grey textile introduces a neutral and consistent surface that contrasts with the depth of the rosewood.
The chair is in excellent restored condition. The frame is structurally sound with a well-preserved finish. The upholstery and internal support system are new, providing reliable comfort for daily use.
A balanced example of Danish modern seating, where structure and softness are resolved through proportion and material.
