This dining table was produced by Sun Cabinet during the 1960s. It is crafted in solid rosewood, with a round top that extends into an oval through an integrated butterfly leaf. The material shows a deep tone with pronounced grain, characteristic of high-quality rosewood from the period.
The table is supported by a central pedestal base in a cross formation, providing stability while allowing unobstructed seating around the perimeter. The edges of the top are softly rounded, introducing a subtle transition between surfaces and reinforcing the overall balance of the piece.
The extension system is built into the table, with the top sliding apart to reveal a stored leaf beneath. The mechanism operates smoothly and allows for a quick transition from a four-seat circular arrangement to a six-seat oval configuration. The system is direct and efficient, with all components functioning as intended.
The table remains in original condition. The surface shows light wear consistent with age, and the structure is solid and stable. The mechanism is fully functional.
We also have a matching set of six chairs from the same series available. Please see our other listings for details.
A well-resolved dining table where proportion, structure, and material are handled with clarity.
