Produced by Dyrlund in Denmark during the mid-century period, this display cabinet reflects the precision, restraint, and versatility that established Danish cabinetry as a global benchmark for modern furniture. Designed as part of a coordinated modular system, the piece combines refined proportions with practical display and storage functionality.
Executed in teak, the cabinet displays beautifully matched grain and warm natural tones throughout the exterior surfaces. The front is composed of two large clear sliding glass doors framed in wood, creating an elegant and visually light composition while allowing the contents to remain fully visible. The doors glide smoothly and are operated through Dyrlund’s characteristic integrated oval carved pulls.
Originally conceived to sit above the matching credenza from the same series, the cabinet incorporates two integrated support legs beneath the body that create a subtle floating effect while maintaining visual clarity and proportion. Internally, a full-width wooden shelf divides the cabinet into two display zones, making the piece ideal for glassware, books, ceramics, collectibles, dining storage, or decorative objects.
Thanks to its unusually slim 12-inch depth and balanced proportions, the cabinet also adapts remarkably well as a standalone wall-mounted cabinet or as elevated storage positioned over desks, consoles, or custom millwork installations.
The cabinet remains in excellent vintage condition. The glass panels are intact and free from cracks or chips, the sliding system operates smoothly, and the teak surfaces remain beautifully preserved with a rich natural finish throughout.
