Designed by Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen during the 1960s, this floor lamp is one of the designer’s most recognizable and enduring forms. Often referred to by collectors as the “Fishing Pole Lamp,” the design is defined by its dramatic cantilevered arm, which projects outward in a graceful arc reminiscent of a fishing rod suspended over water.
The lamp combines teak, brass, and cast iron in a composition that balances warmth, structure, and visual lightness. A substantial cast iron base provides stability, while the slender teak arm and curved brass details create an elegant floating silhouette. The relationship between these materials reflects Holm-Sørensen’s ability to blend sculptural form with everyday functionality.
This example has been fitted with a newly Le Klint style pleated shade that complements the original design and diffuses light softly throughout the room. When illuminated, the lamp creates a warm and inviting atmosphere well suited to living rooms, reading corners, lounges, and bedrooms.
The lamp remains in very good vintage condition. The teak and brass elements present well, the structure is stable, and the newly made shade is in excellent condition. The lamp has been tested and is ready for use.
A thoughtful example of Danish modern lighting, where material, proportion, and movement are brought together in a quietly expressive form.
