Designed by H.W. Klein and produced by Bramin in Denmark during the 1960s, this extendable dining table is a refined example of Danish Modern design, combining elegant proportions, expressive rosewood, and practical functionality.
The table is distinguished by its richly figured rosewood surfaces and beautifully sculpted solid rosewood edging. Gently rounded corners soften the rectangular form, while the slender turned legs create a light architectural presence characteristic of Klein’s furniture for Bramin.
A wide extension leaf allows the table to expand from a compact 53.1” (135 cm) to a generous 76.8” (195 cm), providing additional dining space when needed. The leaf incorporates its own apron, maintaining the continuity and proportions of the table when extended. When not in use, it stores neatly beneath the tabletop, preserving the clean appearance of the design without requiring separate storage.
The table has been fully polished and presents in excellent vintage condition throughout. The rosewood displays a rich, even tone and beautifully defined grain, while the frame and extension mechanism remain solid and functional.
H.W. Klein was a Norwegian designer closely associated with the Danish manufacturer Bramin during the mid-twentieth century.
