A JH574 bench designed by Hans J. Wegner and produced by Johannes Hansen in Denmark.
The design is defined by a slatted solid wood top supported by four gently tapered legs, creating a light and well-balanced silhouette. The spacing between the slats introduces rhythm and allows the construction to remain visually open.
The proportions are low and elongated, making the piece suitable as a bench, coffee table, or auxiliary surface. The edges are softly rounded and the joinery is precise, reflecting Wegner’s focus on craftsmanship and material honesty.
The bench remains in excellent vintage condition. The wood surface shows a warm tone and consistent grain, with minimal signs of use. The Johannes Hansen mark is present.
A quiet and functional example of Danish modern design, where construction and proportion define the object.
