A Brazilian Mid-century modern MP-13 sofa designed by Percival Lafer and produced in Brazil. Professionally reupholstered in green leather, this substantial sofa combines generous seating with an exposed solid Brazilian rosewood frame.
The upholstered body sits within the wooden structure, allowing the frame to remain visible along the sides and beneath the seat. Strong horizontal lines and an open base give the sofa an architectural presence, balanced by the soft contours of the leather upholstery.
Integrated wooden upholstery buttons add a distinctive detail, expressing Lafer’s approach to making construction part of the design. The deep seat and gently reclined back provide a relaxed lounging position, while the green leather contrasts beautifully with the rich tones and expressive grain of the rosewood.
Brazilian designer Percival Lafer is celebrated for furniture that brings together comfort, inventive construction, and richly figured woods. The MP-13 captures these qualities in a clean, generously proportioned design.
Excellent restored condition. The rosewood frame is well preserved, with minor wear consistent with age. The newly completed green leather upholstery features a soft texture and careful tailoring. Please refer to the photographs for condition details.
