This square coffee table was designed by Poul Cadovius and produced by France and Son in Denmark in the 1960s.

The top is executed in rosewood parquetry, composed of carefully arranged veneer sections that create a balanced geometric surface. The variation in grain direction gives depth while maintaining a clear and ordered composition.

The base is defined by solid wood legs with finger-jointed connections, expressing both structure and craftsmanship. The legs can be disassembled, allowing for flat pack transport while maintaining stability when assembled.

The square format offers a more compact and centered presence, suitable for smaller seating arrangements or as a complementary piece within a larger set. Its proportions allow it to function easily within different layouts.

The table is in very good original condition. The surface is well preserved with minimal signs of use. The structure is solid and stable. The manufacturer’s emblem is stamped into the underside of the table.

A rectangular version from the same series is also available, along with matching two-seater and three-seater sofas.

A clear and balanced example of Cadovius’ approach to modular living and material expression.
