A 1960s pod sofa by R. Huber, produced in Canada. The design combines a solid teak frame with a molded seat shell, creating a continuous, enveloping form. The structure is defined by its exposed joinery and clear proportions, with the frame supporting the upholstered body as a distinct element.
The seat is shaped as a single volume, with deep channel tufting that follows the curvature of the form. This construction provides consistent support across the seating surface while maintaining a relaxed posture. The low profile and wide stance give the piece a grounded presence.
The sofa has been reupholstered with new foam and fabric. The teak frame shows light wear consistent with age, with a well-maintained surface and no structural issues.
A considered example of Canadian mid-century design, balancing sculptural form with functional comfort.
