This display cabinet was produced by Bernhard Pedersen & Søn in Denmark during the 1960s. Crafted in solid rosewood, the piece is defined by its sculpted solid wood handles, clean architectural proportions, and beautifully figured exotic grain throughout.
The cabinet features sliding glass doors that move smoothly within the frame, revealing a spacious interior fitted with six adjustable glass shelves and integrated interior lighting. The combination of warm rosewood and transparent glass creates a refined visual balance, making the piece equally suitable for books, ceramics, glassware, records, or curated display objects.
The cabinet remains in excellent vintage condition. The structure is solid, the sliding glass doors function properly, and the lighting works as intended. The rosewood surfaces are exceptionally well preserved and display dramatic grain patterns characteristic of high-quality Scandinavian rosewood furniture from the period.
This piece forms part of a matching Bernhard Pedersen modular set together with the corresponding credenza, which is also available separately. Please see our other listings for additional details and images of the complete set.
For clients seeking a different configuration, it is also possible to replace the glass shelving with wood shelving and adapt the cabinet into a more traditional bookcase for an additional cost.
A refined and highly versatile example of Danish modern cabinetmaking, balancing sculptural simplicity with exceptional craftsmanship and material quality.
