This RY wall unit was designed by Hans J. Wegner and produced by Ry Mobler in Denmark during the 1960s. The system is composed of two narrow modules, each measuring approximately 39.5 inches internally, forming a balanced and architectural composition.
Each module integrates a sliding door cabinet and three open adjustable shelves. The upper cabinets feature double sliding doors with recessed pulls, allowing access without interrupting the clean vertical rhythm of the system. Below, the open shelving provides flexible storage and display, with proportions that maintain a consistent visual alignment across both modules.
The shelving system is designed with precision-drilled side panels and metal support pins, allowing the height of each shelf to be adjusted incrementally. This creates a highly adaptable structure while maintaining a refined and minimal appearance. The base is supported by slender metal leveling feet, slightly lifting the unit from the floor and allowing for stability on uneven surfaces while preserving a light visual presence.
The unit is in excellent vintage condition. The teak surfaces are clean and well maintained, with minor signs of wear consistent with age. Doors slide smoothly, and all structural elements remain solid.
Additional modules from the same RY system are available, allowing for expansion or reconfiguration.
A disciplined and flexible storage system, where modular logic and material quality are resolved with clarity.
