This Scala magazine and record rack was designed by Rolf Hesland and produced by Bruksbo in Norway in the 1960s. The piece is typically executed in rosewood veneer, with a clear emphasis on grain and surface continuity.
The structure is defined by a slatted interior that allows for flexible storage of magazines or vinyl records. The open construction provides both visual lightness and practical organization, while the proportions remain compact and well balanced. The integrated castors allow for easy movement without interrupting the overall form.
The piece functions as a mobile storage unit, suitable for use beside seating areas or within a living space. Its scale and openness allow it to integrate easily without dominating the room.
The rack remains in very good vintage condition. The wood surface shows light, even wear consistent with age, and the structure is stable. The castors function as intended.
