A 1960s scoop chair and ottoman by R. Huber, produced in Canada. The design is defined by its deep, enveloping seat formed as a continuous shell, supported by a solid teak frame. The curved profile and recessed seating position create a low and grounded silhouette, with the frame clearly expressed around the upholstered body.
The chair is paired with a matching ottoman, extending the seating position and reinforcing the overall proportions. The generous seat depth and angled back support a relaxed posture, while the open frame maintains visual lightness. The upholstery has been redone in green leather from Maharam Studio, introducing a clean and consistent surface across both pieces.
Both pieces are in excellent condition, with new leather and well-preserved teak frames. The structure is sound, and the surfaces show minimal wear.
A considered example of Canadian mid-century seating, combining comfort and a clear sculptural presence.
