A 1960s Danish secretary bookcase in rosewood, combining storage, display, and workspace within a vertical cabinet. The case is constructed with well-matched rosewood veneer, showing consistent grain across the drawer fronts, writing surface, and cabinet doors. The upper section features glazed doors with a simple grid, opening to adjustable shelving for books or objects.
The lower section includes a drop-down writing surface supported by brass stays, forming a stable work area when open. Inside, the desk is organized with six small drawers, open compartments, and shelving. Below, the base provides additional storage with three standard drawers and one shallow drawer with internal dividers for smaller items.
The piece is in excellent condition, with clean interior compartments and well-functioning drawers and hinges. The rosewood surfaces are well preserved, and the brass hardware shows a consistent patina.
A functional and well-proportioned example of Danish cabinetmaking, integrating writing, storage, and display within a single form.
