Attributed to Nils Troed and produced in Scandinavia during the 1950s or 1960s, this table mirror reflects the quiet precision of Scandinavian modern design. The piece combines a simple circular mirror with a finely constructed rosewood frame and support structure.
The rosewood gives the object a rich material presence, with deep grain movement and warm tonal variation visible across the frame, back panel, and base. A carefully constructed support system lifts the mirror above the surface, creating the impression that the circular form is floating.
Viewed from the rear, the construction becomes part of the design. The inverted V-shaped rosewood support connects to the base through clean joinery, while the back of the mirror is fully finished in wood. This allows the piece to be appreciated from all angles, whether placed on a vanity, dresser, bedside table, or console.
The mirror remains in very good vintage condition. The rosewood surfaces are well preserved, the structure is stable, and the mirror presents well overall.
A thoughtful example of Scandinavian modern design, where material, function, and proportion are resolved through a small and carefully made object.
