The Bouloum chair is a low lounge form associated with designs by Olivier Mourgue in the 1970s. The chair is defined by its continuous upholstered body, shaped as a single volume without a visible frame. The form is compact and grounded, with a curved profile that supports a relaxed seating posture.
The structure is fully integrated, with the seat, back, and base forming one continuous surface. The proportions are low and informal, allowing the chair to sit close to the floor. The absence of exposed structure emphasizes the overall silhouette and the relationship between form and use.
This example is upholstered in red fabric. The surface is clean and consistent, with no visible interruptions. The chair is in excellent condition, with minimal signs of wear and a stable internal structure.
No manufacturer label is present. The design is therefore attributed based on form and construction. A clear example of 1970s lounge design, where seating is reduced to a single continuous volume.
