A sculptural Mid-century modern Groovy F598 lounge chair designed by French designer Pierre Paulin and produced by Artifort, the Dutch furniture manufacturer based in the Netherlands. Upholstered in yellow fabric, this distinctive chair features a rounded backrest and a contoured seat that sweeps upward at the sides.

Its enveloping upholstered forms and narrow openings between the seat and back give the chair a striking silhouette from every angle. The slim black foot rails are consistent with early production examples, adding to its vintage character.

Designed in 1972, the Groovy combines a steel frame with moulded foam to create an organic, supportive form. Paulin’s sculptural approach and Artifort’s expertise in upholstered seating made their collaboration a defining contribution to postwar furniture design.

Vintage condition with visible upholstery marks, discolouration, and wear, along with scuffs to the black supports. Please refer to the photographs for condition details.

We offer reupholstery services for those wishing to refresh the chair in a fabric of their choice. Please contact us for additional information and pricing.
