Designed by Jean Gillon and produced by Italma in Brazil during the 1970s, this pair of Copa lounge chairs combines substantial proportions with an exposed hardwood structure and generously upholstered seating.
The architectural frames are crafted from solid imbuia, displaying the rich grain and deep brown tones characteristic of the Brazilian hardwood. Clean geometric lines define the structure, while the exposed construction provides a strong visual contrast with the large upholstered cushions.
Each chair features a generously padded seat and backrest accompanied by cylindrical arm cushions. The cushions are supported within the exposed wooden structure, creating the relaxed and enveloping seating position characteristic of the Copa model while allowing much of the frame to remain visible.
Both chairs are offered in their original vintage condition, preserving the existing upholstery, age-related character, and natural patina developed through use.
