A Pianura rectangular coffee table designed by Mario Bellini and produced by Cassina in Italy in 1971.
The table is defined by its low, elongated proportions and restrained architectural presence. The slatted Italian walnut surface introduces rhythm and texture while maintaining a clear and consistent material expression.
The construction reflects the same language found in the seating elements, with parallel wood slats and softened edges that create a cohesive visual connection across the system. The profile remains intentionally minimal, allowing the piece to integrate easily within different configurations.
The table functions as a central element within the Pianura system while also working independently as a low coffee table. Its scale and proportion support both uses without visual dominance.
The piece remains in excellent vintage condition. The surface shows consistent grain and tone, and the structure is solid and well preserved.
This table is part of the Pianura modular system, and we also have a three-seat sofa, a pair of lounge chairs, and a square table that can function as an ottoman base available—please see our other listings.
A clear expression of Bellini’s approach to modular design, where consistency and proportion guide the composition.
