Finn Juhl’s Model 197 chair for France & Son has a few ingenious tricks to keep the design minimal, strong, and comfortable. There are angled grooves routered in the posts that the back rest sits in; there are slats cut into the seat form to get away with usin minmal foam, and the seat “floats” on the thoughtfully constructed frame. This particular pair has solid teak frames, is freshly restored, and covered in Danish wool “Hallingdal” fabric by Kvadrat Textiles.
